Live Updates, Game of the Week 14 Channel

The last game of the regular season is here.

The Colorado State football team hosts Utah State in a Black Friday game at Canvas Stadium. The Rams need to win to keep their hopes of keeping the Mountain West championship game alive. Utah State’s offense moved the ball well, but Rams pushed back late in the half.

Landing in the state of Colorado

The Rams get a quick three-and-out after a field goal and then make Utah State pay.

The Rams move downfield and Dane Olson with a long run after the catch for a 28-yard touchdown. Huge ride there.

It feels like Utah State dominated, but that’s just how it is 16-13 USU near the end of the half.

Another field goal from CSU

CSU drives into the Utah State red zone but stops again and Fowler-Nicolosi is lucky not to be intercepted.

Jordan Noyes kicks a 40-yard field goal.

It’s 16-6 Utah State with 1:44 until halftime.

Utah State adds field goal

A 43-yard run by Bryson Barnes quickly gets Utah State into the CSU red zone, but the Aggies stay put.

Tanner Cragun kicks a 26-yard field goal.

It’s 16-3 Utah State with 7:55 left until halftime. Utah State has 248 yards of offense.

Colorado State field goal

CSU with a small answer. A four-down conversion on a pass from Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi to Jordan Ross keeps the drive alive.

It ended with a 33-yard field goal for Jordan Noyes, capping a 14-play, 61-yard drive.

Utah State leads 13-3 with 10:28 to go until halftime.

Utah State scores again

Utah State’s offensive against CSU is a complete success. Otto Tia capped a 43-yard drive with a 2-yard TD catch from Barnes after a quick 3-and-out by CSU.

Utah State is 13-0 with 2:09 remaining in the first quarter.

So far, Utah State’s mileage is 182-36.

Utah State’s offense moves the ball well and Aggies gets a 1-yard TD run from QB Bryson Barnes. Utah State goes for 2 but fails.

Utah State had plays of 35 and 20 yards on the drive. Already 143 yards of offense for Utah State.

It’s 6-0 with 6:17 minutes left in the first quarter.

Utah State goes right offside, Bryson Barnes connects with Otto Tia on a 51-yard catch-and-run to move into CSU territory.

From there, the Rams block the ball and force a 44-yard field goal attempt, which Tanner Cragun misses wide right.

Still 0-0.

CSU had a first down and a Utah State penalty to move into USU territory (at the 38), but the Rams stopped and punted.

Caleb Goodie and Avery Morrow injury status for CSU

A late, nasty surprise on the injury front for CSU football: Receiver Caleb Goodie is out against Utah State after suffering a head injury late in practice this week.

Running back Avery Morrow is doing warmups and will try to come through. Defensive player Cam Bariteau is out. He has struggled with injuries in recent weeks.

Utah State vs. Colorado State predictions

The final game of the regular season is full of oddities. Who would like to be there? Who is checked out?

Utah State technically has nothing to play for since the Aggies can’t make a bowl. The Rams still have a bowl left and a slim chance of reaching the Mountain West championship game.

That suggests the Rams should be the more settled team, but CSU could also suffer disappointment after losing control of its MW path.

This CSU team seems well connected and still seems to feel like there is still a lot of work to do.

The Rams will force two big turnovers, Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi will hit two deep balls and CSU will rush for over 170 yards despite the injuries.

Injury updates between Utah State and Colorado State

The running back room is the biggest concern for CSU. Avery Morrow was unable to complete more than two runs last week due to an MCL sprain. Jalen Dupree (back) is out with a long-term injury. Keegan Holles missed most of the season with a concussion.

Cam Bariteau (defensive line) was out during last week’s game and is dealing with injuries.
