Looking back at a turbulent 2024 for the Vegas Golden Knights

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — While a Golden Knights Stanley Cup title would go down as a historic year in Vegas sports in 2023, 2024 might not deliver the same results.

This year saw major additions and dramatic changes to the organization. Before we flip the calendar to 2025, let’s look back at the year that was Vegas Born.

Review 2023-2024: The VGK season is coming to an end

While VGK made it to the playoffs, they couldn’t get hot at the right time. The Guys in Gold lost to the Dallas Stars in seven games in a hard-fought first-round series.

The floodgates opened in the offseason with trades and free agency. The team traded Logan Thompson and Paul Cotter and let six unrestricted free agents leave, most notably original outside hitter Jonathan Marchessault.
