A key component of the Mets’ rotation last season was heading west into unfamiliar territory.

Luis Severino agreed to terms with the A’s on Thursday on a three-year contract worth $67 million, industry sources confirmed, as the organization prepares to play in Sacramento for at least three seasons before settling in Las Vegas. He has an opt-out after the second season.

Severino, 30, declined a $21.05 million qualifying offer from the Mets, meaning the team will receive draft pick compensation for his signing with the A’s. The compensatory pick comes after the fourth round.

The guaranteed payout is the highest in A’s franchise history.

Severino was a workhorse on the Mets’ roster last season, posting a 3.91 ERA in 31 starts over 182 innings.

The right-hander received a one-year contract worth $13 million to revive an injury-plagued career with the Yankees.

Severino, Sean Manaea and Jose Quintana all left in free agency after the season, leaving holes in the Mets’ rotation.

The Mets last week signed Frankie Montas to a two-year, $34 million contract with an opt-out option after next season to fill a rotation gap.

ESPN first reported Severino’s agreement with the A’s.
