Margot Robbie insisted on being naked for The Wolf of Wall Street.

Margot Robbie wasn’t afraid to bare it all in her first big film.

The Oscar-nominated “Barbie” star, 34, revealed on the “Talking Pictures” podcast that she insisted on stripping for a nude scene in Martin Scorsese’s 2013 film “The Wolf of Wall Street.” According to Robbie, the director told her it was fine if she covered it up, but she refused.

“(Scorsese) said, ‘Maybe you can wear a robe if you don’t feel comfortable,'” she recalled. “And I thought, ‘She wouldn’t do that in that scene. She wouldn’t wear a dressing gown.’ The point is that she will come out completely naked. That’s the card she’s playing right now.

She added that so much material was shot for the film that the actors felt, “If you want to be in this film, you have to make your presence felt on the screen.”

Robbie starred in the film, based on the former stockbroker’s memoirs, as Naomi Lapaglia, a woman with whom Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) has an affair and later marries. In one scene, Naomi seduces Jordan by entering the room wearing only stockings and shoes.

The Wolf of Wall Street is considered Robbie’s breakout role, having previously starred in Australian soap Neighbors and ABC series Pan Am. The film received five Oscar nominations, including a Best Actor nod for DiCaprio.

Speaking on Talking Pictures, the “I, Tonya” actress recalled being afraid to explain to her family that she had done a full-frontal nude scene.

In the years following The Wolf of Wall Street, Robbie made cameo appearances in The Big Short, Jane in The Legend of Tarzan, and Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, among others. In 2018, she received her first Oscar nomination for Best Actress for the role of Tonya Harding in “I, Tonya.”
