Mariah Carey cancels two more Christmas concerts due to flu: “Devastated”

Mariah Carey had to cancel two more of her holiday shows after coming down with the flu.

On Friday, December 13, the “All I Want for Christmas Is You” singer, 55, told fans that she is still not feeling well and will not be hitting the stage at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential as planned Center and Belmont Park, New York’s UBS Arena for their Mariah Carey’s Christmas Time shows.

“Newark and Belmont – I wish I had better news, but unfortunately I’m still sick and have to cancel the shows tonight (December 13th) and Sunday,” the musician posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“I am truly devastated and appreciate your support. Love MC 💔,” she added.

Carey now has just one show left from the tour at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Tuesday, December 17th. She has not yet commented on whether it will be canceled.

The post came two days after Carey canceled her concert in Pittsburgh just hours before her scheduled appearance at the city’s PPG Paints Arena.

“Pittsburgh, I’m sorry to say I have the flu. It breaks my heart that I unfortunately have to cancel the show tonight. I love you all so much,” she wrote on X on Wednesday, December 11.

Carey has not mentioned whether she will postpone the concerts. It’s a busy time of year for the musician known as the Queen of Christmas.

Her Christmas hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” returned to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week and she received a special surprise to celebrate the honor.

Carey’s twins Monroe and Moroccan, 13, who she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon, surprised their mother with flowers while she was on stage at her show in Raleigh, North Carolina on Monday, December 9.

Monroe and Moroccan performed in front of the crowd of concertgoers after a man took the stage, saying in a clip shared on Instagram: “I don’t want to interrupt you, but I just want to let you all know that we’re leaving.” Giving her flowers tonight because we just found out that “All I Want for Christmas” is number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Make some noise for the Queen of Christmas.”

Carey told her fans: “Thank you. Wow! This was the perfect moment to find out. It’s from the Hot 100? Well, thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Thank you.”

The celebrations took place on the occasion of their 30th anniversary Merry ChristmasThe album “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is represented with the release of a special deluxe edition.

In April, she told PEOPLE that she was heading back out on her annual Christmas tour: “I’ve been working on it day and night. “I’ve worked with some incredible people along the way, like Miss Debbie Allen,” referring to the fame Icon, 74, who served as creative director and choreographer.

“I’ll be singing songs I’ve never done before, some duets,” Carey added at the time. “I have to have some surprises in store.”
