Mavericks vs. Raptors preview, start time, TV schedule and injury report

The Dallas Mavericks (15-8) stay on the road and face the Toronto Raptors (7-16) on Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. CST. Dallas is coming off a stunning win against the Washington Wizards. The Raptors suffered a nearly 40-point loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. This is the final game for Dallas before the next phase of the NBA Cup, where they face the Thunder on Tuesday. Here’s what you need to know about this game:

  • WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs. Toronto Raptors
  • WHAT: Another victory!
  • WHERE: Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, Canada
  • WHEN: 6:30 Clock CST
  • HOW: Channel 29, MavsTV and also Playback with Kirk, Matthew and David

The injury report lists Jaden Hardy as questionable due to the ankle sprain he suffered against the Wizards. Naji Marshal is also out again, still listed as sick. However, as he travels with the team, one has to wonder if he simply needs to improve his conditioning. The Raptors are holding Bruce Brown back because of what I just described for Marshall, he’s getting back into shape. Davion Mitchell is questionable due to hip tightness. Kelly Olynyk is questionable with a back injury. Jakob Poeltl is also questionable due to illness. Immanuel Quickley will miss the game with an elbow injury.

Dallas is currently on a six-game winning streak, with their last five losses coming by a total of 13 points. This is a team that plays well and can play even better. The Raptors played much better in late November and December after starting the season very poorly. This would be a good win for Dallas, even if it feels like we are at the beginning of a difficult season.

As you can see below, you can join me and a few other Mavs Moneyball people in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (although I may not be able to start until halftime). Also consider joining Josh and I at Pod Maverick Live after the game on YouTubewe were supposed to start around 9:15 p.m. Thank you for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go, Mavs!
