Megan Thee Stallion files for a restraining order against Tory Lanez, alleging harassment from prison

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion is seeking a restraining order against Tory Lanez, claiming he harassed her from prison via social media and through “third-party involvement.”

Megan, 29, whose real name is Megan Pete, filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday. The petition says Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, has been “traumatizing” Megan since 2020 and has “shown no signs of stopping.”

“Mr. Peterson is a violent and dangerous criminal, and his established pattern of behavior demonstrates why this civil restraining order is necessary to protect Ms. Pete and her well-being,” it said.

Lanez, 32, is housed at the California Correctional Institution in Southern California after being convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison on July 10, 2020, for shooting Megan in the feet. He has appealed his conviction.

“Even behind bars, Mr. Peterson continues to terrorize Ms. Pete,” the petition states.

The nonprofit representing Lanez accused Megan of lying.

“At what point do we as a society stop believing in the narrative they are pushing? And ask ourselves, ‘Enough is enough.'” “We trust that the truth will be fully investigated and proven through the legal process, and we remain 100% confident in our case,” Unite the People said in a statement on Wednesday on Instagram.

The filing accuses Lanez of using “third-party online bloggers” to spread defamatory statements about Megan. It is alleged that a blogger, Milagro Cooper, posted false statements on social media and YouTube about Megan and Lanez’s criminal case. In it, Cooper, who calls himself Milagro Gramz, is accused of being Lanez’s “puppet and mouthpiece.”

Megan sued Cooper in October. An attorney for Cooper could not immediately be reached for comment on the petition.

The petition also claims that prison call logs indicate that Lanez plotted to attack Megan’s credibility. In one call, Lanez’s father inquired about alleged payments to Cooper “for her harassment of Ms. Pete,” they say.

Lanez is said to have replied: “How will they ever prove something like that?”

The petition says Lanez’s ongoing harassment caused Megan “severe emotional distress and reputational harm.”

“Mr. Peterson is fully aware of the impact of the psychological warfare he has waged against Ms. Pete, yet he continues to direct his supporters to attack Ms. Pete’s character and integrity,” it said.
