Men’s Basketball Ranks No. 24 in AP Poll | News

After a week in which it defeated two nationally ranked programs at the inaugural Players Era Festival: No. 6 Houston and No. 21 Creighton, San Diego State’s men’s basketball program appeared and landed in the Associated Press rankings for the first time Rank No. 24. The Aztecs earned a total of 143 points in the AP Poll and are also receiving votes in the Coaches Poll. San Diego State is the only Mountain West program ranked in either poll.

With its appearance in this week’s AP Poll, San Diego State is ranked 111th for the week since the start of the 2010-11 season, more than any other program in the state of California during that period.

San Diego State is ranked 24th for the 10th time in school history. With the exception of No. 12, SDSU is represented at every position in the poll between No. 4 and No. 25.

Today’s poll rankings, released Dec. 2, mark the sixth time SDSU has appeared in the AP Top 25 that day.

San Diego State puts its No. 24 ranking on the line on Wednesday, December 4 against the Fresno State Bulldogs at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT and the game will be broadcast on FS1.
