MetroWest 2024 Thanksgiving HS football schedule and results

Here is the menu for the 2024 Thanksgiving High School Football Festival. The nearly 140-year-old tradition continues with 21 games involving teams from MetroWest and Milford. Six feature duels between local teams.

There will be more bites than in previous years with some games postponed to Wednesday in anticipation of the wet and cold weather.

Bellingham will play for its second straight Tri Valley League Small title against Norton, while the Hockomock Kelley Rex championship is on the line when Franklin visits King Philip in Wrentham. Holliston, which has already secured a share, can clinch the TVL Large championship outright with a win over Westwood.

That’s over for all but two regional teams. Hudson still has to play in the Division 6 Super Bowl on Dec. 4, while Tri-County plays in the Small School Vocational Super Bowl on the same day.

Thursday, November 28th

ALGONQUIN 22, Westborough 20: The host Titans (5-6) won a thriller over the Rangers (8-3). Westborough leads the overall series 43-28-1.

ASHLAND 34, Hopkinton 14: The Clockers (5-6) defeated the Hillers (2-9) in the 98th meeting (and 101st anniversary) of the rivalry. Hopkinton still leads the overall series 54-40-4.

BELLINGHAM 26, Norton 7: The visiting Blackhawks (8-3) secured their second straight Tri-Valley League Small title with a convincing win at Norton (6-5). The Lancers still lead the overall series 14-12.

BLACKSTONE-MILLVILLE/HOPEDALE 26, Sutton 20: The host Chargers (5-6) defeated the Sammies (2-9) to take a 6-5 lead in the overall series.

MEDFIELD 35, Dover-Sherborn 0: The host Warriors (4-7) defeated the Raiders (2-9). Medfield now leads the series 32-21-5.

KING PHILIP 27, Franklin 21: The host and Division 2 Super Bowl contender Warriors (12-0) narrowly defeated the Panthers (7-4) in the 64th meeting between the programs. Franklin still leads the overall series 33-30-1.

WESTWOOD 32, Holliston 6: The visiting Panthers (5-6) fell to the Wolverines (8-3). Westwood leads the overall series 29-19-1.

HUDSON 33, Marlborough 14: The visiting Hawks (12-0), who are in Division 6 of the Super Bowl, did not give up and defeated neighboring rival Marlborough (4-7). The win is the second in a row for Hudson, who had not previously won the game since 2010. Marlborough still leads the overall series 44-15.

LINCOLN-SUDBURY 42, Newton South 6: The Warriors (6-5) racked up 367 yards on the ground in a comfortable win over the Lions (1-9) on Thanksgiving Day. LS got rushing scores from Akhai Marshall (65 yards), Sean Landry (1 yard), Mason Tarantino (79 yards) and Jamie Champa (11 yards), with Marshall finishing the day with 111 yards on two carries and Tarantino having 122 yards on four Carrier. Through the air, senior Sean Landry scored two passes, one to Ryan Gallagher (10 yards) and another to Amari Thames (21 yards). Gallagher also added an interception on defense, with Thames and Avery Remely adding fumble recoveries. Kevin Abair led the Warriors defense with 12 tackles. LS now leads the overall series at 39-11-1.

MILLBURY 33, Maynard/AMSA 21: The Tigers (5-6) fell to Millbury (8-3).

MEDWAY 35, Millis 14: The visiting Mustangs (8-3) defeated host Millis (4-6) in their 94th meeting, so Medway now leads the overall series 52-37-5.

NATICK 43, Framingham 15: The Redhawks (10-2) defeated the Flyers (1-10) at Memorial Field. Natick now leads the overall series 81-34-5.

WAYLAND 42, Weston 0: The visiting Warriors (9-2) defeated the Wildcats (4-7) in the programs’ 88th meeting. Wayland now leads the overall series 55-30-3.

NEEDHAM 20, Wellesley 13: The host and the Division 1 Super Bowl-bound Rockets (12-0) won their 136th meeting against the rival Raiders (8-4). Wellesley still leads the standings 66-62-9.
