NBA Cup knockout round matches planned; Scheduled games for non-quarterfinalists

After the group games in the NBA Cup have been completed on Tuesday, the eight teams that will move into the knockout round have been determined and the quarterfinal games have been scheduled.

After warrior, RocketsAnd Hawks previously secured places in the knockout round, the thunder, outsider, dollar, CurtsyAnd magic joined them based on Tuesday’s results. According to the NBA, the quarterfinal matchups are as follows (Twitter links):

Eastern Conference:

  • Orlando Magic (No. 4) at Milwaukee Bucks (No. 1): Tuesday, December 10 (7 p.m. ET)
  • Atlanta Hawks (No. 3) at New York Knicks (No. 2): Wednesday, December 11 (7 p.m. ET)

Western Conference:

  • Dallas Mavericks (No. 4) at Oklahoma City Thunder (No. 1): Tuesday, December 10 (9:30 p.m. ET)
  • Golden State Warriors (No. 3) at Houston Rockets (No. 2): Wednesday, December 11 (9:30 p.m. ET)

While these four games are played at the home team’s arena, the winners advance to a neutral site for the final four games. The semifinals (December 14) and final (December 17) will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The quarterfinal and semifinal results count toward each team’s regular season record, but the final does not. A team that loses in the quarterfinals will play the other quarterfinal loser from its conference in rescheduled regular season games to ensure those clubs earn the full score of 82.

Meanwhile, the 22 teams that didn’t make it to the NBA Cup quarterfinals each had two regular-season games added to their original 80 to fill the gap in their mid-December schedule.

  • Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers (7:00 p.m. ET)
  • Indiana Pacers at Philadelphia 76ers (7 p.m. ET)
  • Los Angeles Lakers at Minnesota Timberwolves (8:00 p.m. ET)
  • Brooklyn Nets at Memphis Grizzlies (8:00 p.m. ET)
  • Charlotte Hornets at Chicago Bulls (8:00 p.m. ET)
  • Los Angeles Clippers at Denver Nuggets (9:00 p.m. ET)
  • Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz (9:30 p.m. ET)
