Live statistics

These two teams have played once in all of history. Florida A&M defeated Nebraska in 2004 and is one of only 14 other programs with a winning record against Nebraska. They are 1-0 against the Huskers! A win on Friday in 2024 will shatter that winning record and push these teams to a tie.

The Florida A&M Rattlesnakes play in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. They remained undefeated in their conference and defeated Jackson State 3-1 in the conference finals. The Rattlers have been to the NCAA Tournament 13 times but have only won one game. In 2003, they won their first round game against Winthrop.

Nebraska’s emphasis against Florida A&M is tough. A good serve will not only be beneficial during the tournament, it will also have an impact on that particular opponent. The Rattlers run a fast-paced offense that requires good passing. Attackers quickly approach the left pin and take various routes along the net. A hard serve from Nebraska that forces a pass over the net is like quicksand to the Rattlers’ offense; it will slow things down. Slow attack is blockable.

Nebraska is playing at home for the first time since Nov. 23 when they beat Wisconsin. Coach Cook said he expected the Devaney crowd to be good for a few points for his Husker team. The Rattlers play at home in Tallahassee, Florida, in front of a few hundred fans. No matter how well you prepare for a game, it’s impossible to prepare for the atmosphere in Devaney. Be loud!

Yesterday was opening day of the NCAA Tournament. There were 18 games, 2 surprises and lots of great volleyball. BYU was upset by Loyola Chicago and Ole Miss was upset by Florida State. Georgia Tech was pushed to the brink by Tennessee. Creighton looked good in its three-set win over South Dakota. Five Big Ten teams played and all five won.
