Nebraska football leads Boston College at halftime of the Pinstripe Bowl

In the program’s first bowl game since 2016, Nebraska football holds a halftime lead.

The Huskers lead the Boston College Eagles 13-2 at halftime at Yankee Stadium. This is the first ever meeting between the two programs.

Harlem native Rahmir Johnson got the Big Red on the field with a four-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter. Kwinten Ives, led by defensive lineman Ty Robinson at fullback, extended the lead with a two-yard score late in the second quarter.

But Boston College threatened. The Eagles blocked the extra point on the second touchdown and brought it back to the house for two points. They were also inside the Nebraska 35 on all four possessions, settling for one missed field goal and three turnovers on downs.

BC’s offense managed 197 yards, including 157 through the air on 13 of 20 passes from Grayson James.

Nebraska’s offense racked up 189 yards, including 132 through the air from quarterback Dylan Raiola. The Huskers also gave the ball away twice with an interception and a fumble. The Blackshirts had five tackles for loss, including two sacks by Ty Robinson and Vincent Shavers.

At the start of the second half, Boston College will have the ball.
