New Jersey school closings and delayed openings for Monday

Parts of northern New Jersey will receive some snow and a wintry mix overnight Sunday into Monday morning.

The impending severe weather has led some school districts to announce delayed openings or closures on Monday, December 16th.

The National Weather Service is forecasting snow in northwestern parts of New Jersey overnight. The wintry precipitation is expected to transition to pure rain sometime Monday morning.

“Untreated roads could become slippery … potentially impacting Monday morning commutes, particularly along/north of I-80,” the NWS warned in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
