Everything will be done by Friday. There will be a fresh layer of snow on the ground and the thermometer will be a little colder, with highs in the upper teens and a little more sunshine too.

The weekend looks to remain cold, with highs in the low 20s. The astronomical winter begins on Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to be warmer next week. On Monday, shortly before Christmas, the subway could freeze again.

With the warmer air there will be clouds and a slight chance of some snow Monday morning, but overall it will remain dry.

Christmas is currently warm, with highs in the upper 30s.

The models are currently ensuring a warm final part of the year with a mild end until 2024.
