NFL fans can’t believe the 49ers’ luck after RB’s recent injury-related absence

The San Francisco 49ers were hit hard by the injury bug during the 2024 NFL season. No position on the roster has suffered more setbacks than the running backs room, which entered Sunday’s game with running backs Christian McCaffrey, Jordan Mason and Elijah Mitchell on IR.

Things only got worse in the win against the Chicago Bears. Fourth-string running back Isaac Guerendo, a tied starter in the absence of his aforementioned teammates, left the game in the second half after sustaining an injury of his own.

Kyle Shanahan gave an update on Guerendo after the game, telling reporters that the team believes he suffered a sprained foot but that he would need an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.

Guerendo’s injury is the latest in a long list of injuries to plague the 49ers this season, and fans on social media couldn’t help but notice how unlucky the team has been when it comes to having its key players on the field to keep.
