No, George McCaskey is not mobilizing Chicago Bears fans on social media

Despite all the criticism the Chicago Bears received over the way team president Kevin Warren handled Monday’s press conference detailing the firing of Matt Eberflus, it was a step in the right direction.

That’s a far-fetched statement considering it’s another press conference where the Bears are explaining why they were wrong in hiring their last head coach, but the bright spot of the day was that team boss George McCaskey didn’t spoke up.

For all the insinuations McCaskey has made in recent years claiming he is not involved in football operations, there are reasons to believe he is keeping a low profile. McCaskey was involved in the meeting with Poles and Warren to determine Eberflus’ fate. If we’re being honest, McCaskey was probably the one who pushed the Bears to keep Eberflus.

Nevertheless, McCaskey was convinced of the decision to leave Eberflus.

Although McCaskey did not speak to reporters on Monday, fans may have noticed that it was on We will not link to the account nor embed the tweets posted from this account because every Bears fan with functioning brain cells knows that account actually has no connection to the Bears or McCaskey.

It’s times like these that remind us just how steep the decline of X, formerly known as Twitter, has become. Anyone can buy his “credentials” and pretend to be a celebrity like McCaskey.

But while we’re on the subject of McCaskey, it’s important to note that he doesn’t have a firm say in how the Bears hire their next coach. Like it or not, McCaskey isn’t going anywhere and meeting with candidates. At the end of the day, he has final approval on every decision made in the Bears organization. Meeting with the candidates is fine, but he should not control the process. That’s why Warren is here.

Warren may have botched the stadium project up to this point, but that shouldn’t be the reason he can’t oversee the head coaching hiring. Because for everyone who wants the Poles to control the process: the Poles’ insistence on the return of Eberflus last January is the reason we are at this point.
