ForbesNYT “Connections” tips and answers for Wednesday, December 4th

Hello! I hope you’re having a great week so far.

If you’ll indulge me for a moment, I’ve completed my first real foray into virtual reality by writing about my experiences with Trombone Champ VR. It’s ridiculously silly and also happens to be one of my favorite games of the year. I’ll wait until I get vision correction lenses that attach directly to the PS VR2 before experimenting with them next time. I don’t want to break any more glasses!

Today NYT Connections Hints and answers for Thursday, December 5th will follow soon.

How to play connections

Connections is a free, popular one New York Times daily pun. You will receive a new puzzle every day at midnight. You can play on that NYT Website or gaming app.

You will be presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to divide them into four groups of four by finding out the connections between them. The groups can be items you can click on, names of research participants, or words preceded by a body part.

Each puzzle has only one solution, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that could fit into more than one category. You can mix up the words to perhaps better see the connections between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to understand, blue and green are in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often contains puns.

Select four words that you think go together and click Send. If you guess and are wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to finding the right group, you may see a message saying you’re one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which word to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure that this doesn’t happen with the help of some tips, and if you really find it difficult, even with today’s ones Connections Answer. Like with Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

If you have one NYT You can access the publications with the All Access or Games subscription Connections Archive. This includes every previous game from Connectionsso you can go back and play any songs you missed.

Aside from the first 60 or so games, you should be able to find my clues for each grid via Google if you need to! Simply click here and enter the date of the game for which you need hints or answers to the search query.

What are today’s connection solutions?

Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to find out today Connections Answer.

This is your final warning!

Today Connections Answers are…

  • Yellow group – talent (intuition, gift, instinct, nose)
  • Green group – exterior (FACE, FRONT, OUTSIDE, SURFACE)
  • Blue Group – technology companies (AMAZON, APPLE, INTUIT, ORACLE)
  • Purple Group – ____stone (BRIM, LIME, RHINE, YELLOW)

It’s always nice to get a perfect game, especially when it takes me up to eight wins in a row. This is what happened to me:

LIME and APPLE could have formed the backbone of a group, as could AMAZON and RHINE as rivers. But the blue group was completely clear to me when I came to INTUIT and wrote down the word list. I often cover news about AMAZON and APPLE, while ORACLE and INTUIT are large companies in the technology industry, so this was easy for me.

To clarify, ORACLE was formerly listed on the Nasdaq, but moved to the New York Stock Exchange over a decade ago. However, it is somewhat well known that major technology companies (including the so-called Magnificent Seven of Alphabet/Google, Apple, Amazon, Meta/Facebook, Nvidia, Microsoft and Tesla) tend to be listed on the former. So that seemed appropriate enough for a blue clue.

However, the combination of OUTSIDE and FRONT led me to the greens in a straightforward manner. It only took a moment to see the yellows, and I was pretty sure the others made up the purple group, so I cleared them first. I was able to figure out this connection before submitting.

That’s all for today Connections Hints and answers. Be sure to check out my blog for tips and the walkthrough for Friday’s game if you need them.

PS As much as I’m tempted to turn on “Rhinestone Cowboy” or “Like A Stone” by Audioslave, let’s continue (and probably conclude) our look at some of the better songs to reach number one on the UK Singles Chart. There are actually some good ones out there. For example, I like all three Spice Girls songs that triumphed in the 90s – “2 Become 1”, “Too Much” and “Goodbye”.

But the best Christmas number one of all time took the top spot in both 1975 and 1991. It is, of course, one of the greatest songs ever recorded: “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Make sure you headbang appropriately:

I wish you a wonderful day! Call someone you love!
