Milan will be without Theo Hernandez for the second game in a row, although an injury crisis forces Tijjani Reijnders and Filippo Terracciano into new roles against Hellas Verona.

It starts at 7.45pm GMT at the Stadio Bentegodi.

You can follow the entire build-up and action in the live blog.

Paulo Fonseca is under increasing pressure after just one win in his last five Serie A games and dismal performances, although Milan fans have turned against the players and club owners rather than their coach.

This is also because he is taking a stand against Theo Hernandez, dropping him for the second time in a row after a poor attitude in the Champions League as Alex Jimenez put in an impressive performance at left-back.

Milan’s absence list continues to grow: Alvaro Morata is suffering from tonsillitis, Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Yunus Musah, Noah Okafor, Luka Jovic, Ismael Bennacer and Alessandro Florenzi are out of action.

That means that, after trying out 17-year-old Mattia Liberali in midfield against Genoa, Fonseca is this time moving full-back Terracciano into that role and pushing Reijnders into the more advanced trequartista position behind Tammy Abraham and Rafael Leao.

Verona found itself in a difficult position with four consecutive defeats in Serie A and coach Paolo Zanetti appeared certain to be sacked after the 4-1 home defeat to Empoli.

However, they stuck with him and he ended that run with a 3-2 away win at Parma.

Aboud Harroui was out for the season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee and sat on the treatment table alongside Martin Frese and Juan Manuel Cruz.

Jackson Tchatchoua and Darko Lazovic take on the major roles, Tomas Suslov supports Amin Sarr.

It’s a busy time for Verona, as President Maurizio Setti’s sale to American fund Presidio Private Investors is expected to be completed at the end of 2024.

Before kick-off, players from both teams will move out with seven rescued puppies from a local center who have been “adopted” by Hellas Verona until they find a forever home.
