On the map: All locations where there have been massive drone sightings in the last week

New Jersey residents were left confused and concerned when a group of mysterious drones were seen flying in the skies over the state starting late last month. Now residents in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Florida, California and other states are experiencing the same thing.

In recent weeks, local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in a number of states have been collecting and investigating reports of unexplained drone sightings

A group of what appear to be commercial drones have repeatedly appeared over communities and even some restricted airspace after sunset – first in northern New Jersey and now across the country.

Despite their increasing presence, officials have so far had no response other than to reassure the public that they pose no threat to national security.

“We currently have no evidence that the reported drone sightings pose a threat to national or public safety or have any foreign connection,” the FBI and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a statement.

Their origins are unknown and federal investigators are under public pressure to find out.

Here’s where else they’ve been spotted.

New Jersey

The largest drone presence appears to be in parts of New Jersey, where the reports originated.

Sightings began near and in Morris County on November 18th and have not stopped since. Residents expressed concerns about the purpose of the drones, and those concerns intensified when officials were unable to explain them.

It was alarming to some because the drone sightings occurred near Donald Trump’s golf club in Bedminster.

new York

On December 13, New York State Police announced that they had received “numerous” reports of drone sightings.

A day later, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that an airfield in New Windsor was temporarily closed due to drone activity.

“This has gone too far,” Hochul said, calling on the Biden administration to send police officers to New York to help protect residents and infrastructure.

Connecticut

Residents in Fairfield, Enfiled, Stamford and East Windsor reported drone activity in their neighborhoods. State police said they are using a drone detection system to assist in the investigation.

Pennsylvania

After residents reported drone sightings, Gov. Josh Shapiro said he was directing state police to investigate the sightings and use helicopters to find out where the drones were coming from.

Massachusetts

Several Cape Code residents reported drone sightings last week, prompting Gov. Maura Healey to announce that police are working with federal officials to understand the origins and purpose of drones.

Her statement came just as two men were arrested for allegedly flying a drone too close to Logan International Airport.

Maryland

Drones have been spotted around Baltimore – some even belonging to former Gov. Larry Hogan.

Delaware

The FBI in Baltimore said it was aware of possible drone sightings in Delaware.

Florida

Multiple local news outlets have reported that Jacksonville residents spotted mysterious drones flying over the area.

Officials have not yet confirmed these reports.

California

According to NBC Los Angeles, drones have been spotted over Riverside County
