Ouattara’s last-gasp equalizer gives Bournemouth a point at Fulham | Premier League

Dango Ouattara scored an 89th-minute equalizer as Bournemouth earned a point from a 2-2 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Raúl Jiménez scored his sixth Premier League goal of the season before Evanilson equalized early in the second half. After Harry Wilson scored his second goal in as many games, Ouattara came on and broke the deadlock in the final minutes.

The draw extended both clubs’ unbeaten runs to seven games as Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva’s sides continue their rise in European football.

After a nervous opening period in which Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno was forced into action to save Ryan Christie, Fulham came into the game through the explosive Antonee Robinson, who continued his recent good form.

The left-back was deployed higher up in possession and the Cottagers reaped the rewards. A nice one-two in his own half meant Robinson had space to break upfield and his sprint led to a pass to Wilson and a shot straight at the goalkeeper.

Bournemouth enjoyed the physical battle and their aerial superiority paid off from a corner when James Hill nodded past Leno. But the referee blew his whistle for a dubious-looking foul on Joachim Andersen, which let Fulham off the hook.

Set pieces became an issue and Fulham converted one of their own to score. Andreas Pereira took a corner kick and the well-positioned Jiménez used the speed of the ball to direct his shot into the bottom left corner.

Fulham finished the half strongly with Alex Iwobi’s long-range shot narrowly missing the top corner.

After the break, Bournemouth flew off the ground as Evanilson equalized in the 51st minute. A sweet, curling pass from Hill played the striker into the background and, after showing great composure to deny Andersen, he fired his close-range shot into the roof of the net.

The competition started to heat up. After the visitors’ goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, quickly went down and parried Jiménez’s header from six yards out, the Cherries went down at the other end, with Leno Evanilson making the save.

After scoring in Fulham’s 2-1 win over local rivals Chelsea on Boxing Day, Wilson scored in successive games to put his team ahead. Robinson, who was at the center of the move, received the ball on the left and deflected the first cross before pushing it in with his weaker right foot. Wilson pushed himself in front of his man and gave Arrizabalaga no chance.

Iraola turned to the bench and after Bournemouth’s pressing forced the loss of possession, Ouattara held his nerve and played a clever chip to get past Leno.
