Over 2 million travelers are expected at SEA Airport by the end of the year

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is preparing for the holiday travel rush with holiday activities, updated travel amenities and the return of the SEA Visitor Pass program.

SEA Airport is expecting over 2 million travelers from December 19 to January 2, with the busiest days expected to be December 20 and 21, with 172,000 travelers expected on Friday alone.

From December 20th to 27th, travelers can enjoy a 90-minute free parking window in the general car park during the evening hours, helping to ease congestion during one of the busiest weeks of the year.

The free parking window is open from 8 p.m. to midnight, making it easier for friends and family to pick up or drop off passengers.

SEA Airport recommends drivers use the south entrance at International Boulevard and 182nd Street for quicker access.

Holiday festivities at SEA Airport include live music, roving holiday characters and interactive snow globes showcasing global holiday traditions. Visitors can also discover Jett the SEA Otter, the airport’s new mascot, at select events.

Additionally, the SEA Visitor Pass program is back, allowing non-travellers to register for access outside of security checkpoints. Whether meeting arriving loved ones or exploring the terminal’s offerings, the program offers more ways to enjoy the airport’s amenities.

Construction work on the northern end of the ticket sales area will also be completed. New open spaces and improved check-in technology are now available as part of the SEA Gateway project.

Travelers are advised to plan in advance as Checkpoint 5 remains closed and green-marked guides are available.

To make travel easier, SEA recommends using SEA Spot Saver to reserve a spot at security, arrive early for flights, and use public transportation or reserved parking.
