Green Bay Packers running back Chris Brooks scored his first touchdown of the 2024 season and the first touchdown of his NFL career on Monday night against the New Orleans Saints.

Brooks, playing in his 22nd NFL regular-season game, scored on a 1-yard score in the second quarter of their Week 16 showdown at Lambeau Field to give the Packers a 21-0 lead over the Saints.

Brooks was not accepted by BYU in 2023.

The touchdown came on Brooks’ 33rd touchdown of the 2024 season. He came into Monday night’s game with 22 carries for 101 yards and 10 catches for 67 yards while providing excellent pass protection out of the backfield.

The Packers signed Brooks to the 53-man roster in September. He is playing in his 13th game for Green Bay this season after appearing in nine games for the Dolphins as an undrafted rookie in 2023.

While Josh Jacobs scored 13 rushing touchdowns this season, Brooks became just the sixth Packers player to score a rushing touchdown in 2024, joining Jacobs, Emanuel Wilson, Jayden Reed, Malik Willis and Jordan Love. The Packers now have 18 rushing touchdowns this season.
