Panthers QB Bryce Young rushes for a 10-yard TD against the Bucs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young’s newfound confidence isn’t just limited to his throws.

The top pick of the 2023 draft was also more comfortable running, and he used that to his advantage for a 10-yard touchdown scramble on third-and-6 midway through the second quarter of Sunday’s NFC South game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It was his first rushing touchdown since the opener, a 47-10 loss to the Saints, and the second of his career. He had none during his rookie season.

Young used the same improved determination in the scramble as he did recently in the pass. As soon as he felt pressure from the right, he ran left and held the ball across the goal line as Bucs safety Antoine Winfield Jr. tackled him on the way out of bounds.

The touchdown gave Carolina a 10-7 lead.
