Patrick Mahomes promised his wife Brittany the Chiefs that she would win the top collection on Christmas so “we can have the baby”

Patrick Mahomes is ready to celebrate the Chiefs’ triumph with his wife Brittany and their growing family.

The 29-year-old Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, coming off a victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday, December 25, joked in an on-camera interview that Brittany can now go ahead and give birth after promising victory .

“I told my wife — my pregnant wife — that I was going to get her the No. 1 seed so we could have the baby,” Patrick joked. “We got the No. 1 seed.”

The Chiefs’ 29-10 win on Christmas Day in Pittsburgh secured them first place in the AFC and gave them home field advantage in the playoffs.

Patrick and Brittany, 29, share daughter Sterling Skye, born in February 2021, and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, born in November 2022. The couple, who have been married since March 2022, announced on social media in July “Three” of parenthood with a baby girl on the way.

Responding to Patrick’s quote in an Instagram Story, Brittany captioned a picture of the duo, “Always keeping his promises,” and added a teary-eyed smiling emoji and a heart.

Patrick celebrated the Chiefs’ win with fellow tight end Travis Kelce by opening two footballs filled with red velvet cake. As Kelce, 35, bit into the treat, Patrick demurred: “I’m watching my weight for the playoffs.”

Brittany, Sterling and Bronze were naturally prepared for the big game. The Kansas City Current co-owner celebrated Christmas and the Chiefs at the same time, posting a video to her Instagram Stories of her daughter “baking and daddy watching” and glimpses of “game day snuggles” with little Bronze.

Brittany reposted a shot from Patrick and Kelce’s cake-filled interview, writing, “What an amazing Christmas!!!”

While Brittany wasn’t able to be in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, the Mahomes clan regularly supports Patrick in person at games. You recently attended the Chiefs’ victory on Saturday, December 21st over the Houston Texans. Sterling wore Chiefs gear and ear-protecting headphones as she cheered on her father.
