Patriots place CB Marcus Jones on injured reserve; Make a number of additional squad moves

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that CB Marcus Jones has been placed on injured reserve and that T Caedan Wallace has been added to the 53-man roster. Wallace played in the first four games on September 19 with the New York Jets, making one start at left tackle, before being placed on injured reserve on October 4.

Additionally, the Patriots announced that WR Alex Erickson and LB Monty Rice have been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for the second consecutive year.

Erickson32, a veteran of eight NFL seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals (2016-20), Carolina Panthers (2021), Washington Commanders (2022) and Los Angeles Chargers (2023), was signed to New England’s practice squad in December recorded. The 6-foot-2, 223-pound player played in 35 games for the Titans with 10 starts, collecting 110 total tackles, 2 passes defended and 18 special teams tackles. Rice was waived by Tennessee on December 5, 2023 and claimed on waivers by New Orleans on December 6, 2023. Rice was inactive for five games with the Saints. He went to training camp with New Orleans last summer and spent the beginning of the year on Atlanta’s practice squad before being released on October 21, 2024. On November 5, 2024, he was signed to the practice squad by New England.
