Patriots vs. Colts inactive: Jabrill Peppers makes his comeback in Week 13

Jabrill Peppers’ future with the New England Patriots is in jeopardy following his arrest in early October. He was charged with multiple crimes, including assault and battery, placed on the commissioner’s exempt list, and publicly identified as a candidate for release by team owner Robert Kraft.

While his long-term prospects remain unclear pending a jury trial in January, Peppers will be back on the field Sunday. The Patriots activated him for their Week 13 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

The 29-year-old, who was reinstated by the NFL on Monday, will therefore make his comeback after missing the previous eight games.

“If Pep is ready to go, hopefully we can get him to play,” head coach Jerod Mayo said this week. “For us in these four walls, I expect him to be able to play when he’s ready to go, as long as he does the right thing.”

Meanwhile, the Patriots’ list of inactives looks like this:

Patriots inactive

  • OL Lester Cotton
  • ED Titus Leo
  • S Marte Mapu
  • QB Joe Milton III (emergency QB)
  • WR KJ Osborn
  • OL Tyrese Robinson
  • DT Jaquelin Roy

The Patriots started the weekend without a player missing; The only player they deemed unfit to play despite training was offensive lineman Cole Strange. The former first-round draft pick remains on the physically unable to perform list for now.

Of the players currently on the 53-man roster, nine – including the aforementioned Jabrill Peppers – were considered questionable to play against the Colts. Of those, only one was out: Defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy will miss a third straight game with a neck injury.

This means that a) the other inactive scratches are all healthy scratches and b) eight of these questionable scratches are operational. In addition to Peppers, this group includes wide receiver DeMario Douglas (ankle), offensive tackle Vederian Lowe (shoulder), defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. (foot), linebackers Anfernee Jennings (knee), Christian Elliss (knee) and Sione Takitaki (knee ). ) and fellow safety Kyle Dugger (ankle).

Kickoff between the Patriots and Colts at Gillette Stadium is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET. According to the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, New England enters the game as a 2.5-point underdog.
