Pecchia: “100 percent not enough” against this Inter

Fabio Pecchia admits it’s not enough to “give 100 percent” against Inter after Parma suffered a 3-1 defeat at the San Siro.

The Ducali held out for most of the first half and finally capitulated to a wonderful individual effort from Federico Dimarco, who controlled with his left heel before sweeping in with his right boot.

Nicolò Barella cleared the offside trap to make it 2-0 before Marcus Thuram converted a corner at the back post, while Matteo Darmian scored an own goal when he tried to stop Dennis Man, making the final score 3-1 at the San Siro.

Pecchia has no regrets about Parma

“We can’t say much, to get a result against a team like Inter it’s often not enough to give 100 percent,” Pecchia told DAZN.

“I saw some good things. These games can help us grow for the rest of the season.”

Parma had several chances of their own, apart from Darmian’s own goal, and Pecchia refuses to change his tactical approach.

“I will always ask my men to try to score goals, even when they are 3-1 down. You have to score to win, that’s my mentality.

“It’s not exactly unusual to concede a goal against Inter, but overall we defended pretty well and had chances to score.

“The club has set a clear strategy here, we have players who need to gain experience on the field and I see them improving with every game.”

Parma have only managed three wins in Serie A this season, albeit against Fiorentina, Milan and Venezia, along with impressive draws against Bologna and Juventus.
