Penn State women’s volleyball heading to the NCAA Championship

The No. 1 seed Penn State women’s volleyball players are headed to the NCAA Tournament championship game on Sunday after defeating the No. 1 seed Nebraska Cornhuskers in the semifinal round on Thursday night. The Nittany Lions appeared to be dead in the water as they had to overcome a two-set deficit, but reversed in the next three sets for a trip to the championship game against Louisville. Penn State’s Jess Mruzik came up big again, leading the team with 26 kills. Camryn Hannah and Caroline Jurevicius combined for 36 of the team’s 71 kills. PSU will compete in the National Championship for the first time since 2014. The game begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 22nd in Louisville, Kentucky and will be broadcast on ABC.
