Pete Hegseth comes clean about his allegations of alcohol problems:
Pete Hegseth commented on the allegations of alcohol abuse made against him.

President Donald Trump’s Pentagon pick, Pete Hegseth, addressed his allegations of alcohol abuse, saying he must have had a beer or two, like all men who came out of the war, but he never had a drinking problem and I never had to go to counseling because it was never an abuse or a problem. On Megyn Kelly’s show Wednesday, Pete Hegseth said he was excited about the Senate hearing because it would put an end to the “arsenal of lies” being spread about him and mean a real investigation.
“First of all, I never had a drinking problem,” Hegseth said. “No one has ever come to me and said, ‘You should really think about getting help for drinking.’ I never sought advice, never sought help, but I respect and appreciate people who do that when they often come back from war. Sometimes it’s with a bottle.

Hegseth says he will stop drinking

During the interview, Pete said that he would consider his job in Petangon a deployment and would stop drinking as soldiers are not allowed to drink while deployed. “This is the biggest effort of my life and I won’t have a drop of alcohol on my lips while doing it,” he said.
After Matt Gaetz withdrew his nomination to be Trump’s attorney general, Hegseth reportedly became the most controversial nominee in doubt. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to replace Pete Hegseth, but Hegseth dismissed the speculation.
Alcohol abuse is just one of many allegations against him. In a 2018 email from his mother Penelope Hegseth, he was accused of mistreating women. But his mother clarified that it was written in haste and with deep emotion in a different context, as Pete and his first wife were going through a difficult divorce.
