PFF grades, redshirt report and more

The regular season ended for Oklahoma on Saturday evening.

The Sooners lost to LSU 37-17 in Death Valley and finished the 2024 regular season 6-6 and will now have to wait a week before learning their bowl destination.

Here’s a look at some OU numbers – Pro Football Focus grades and snap counts – following the Sooners’ regular-season finale loss to LSU.

It’s almost like finals week as the Sooners get their final grades of the regular season from Pro Football Focus. However, the Sooners failed in their last chance to make a lasting impression after upsetting the then-No. 7 Alabama last week to become bowl eligible.

PFF’s grades didn’t show a drastic decline, but score aside, there was definitely a difference in performances. OU’s offense was rated 64.5 overall against LSU, down from 72.9 against Bama. The biggest drop was on offense, from 63.7 to 56.5.

Run back Sam Franklin was the highest-graded OU offensive player according to PFF with 78.7 and 18 snaps. Franklin divided his running back duties among Xavier Robinson And Gavin Sawchukwho logged 25 and 22 snaps, respectively. Freshmen Taylor Tatum The field did not appear but was not included in the SEC availability report. Jovantae Barnes was removed from the report on Friday but also did not see the field after struggling with an injury.

OU’s entire offensive line and quarterback Jackson Arnold played all 60 offensive snaps. The O-line included Logan Howland, Heath Ozaeta, Troy Everett, Febechi Nwaiwu And Spencer Brown. It was a tough day for the group, however, as they posted a season-low passing grade of 18 in a season in which the offensive line broke records for the number of sacks given up in games. Brown had the lowest grade of the group at 42.9, while Ozaeta had the highest grade at 66.1.

First semester accessible Jacob Jordan was again leading receivers in snaps with 51, followed by Zion Ragins (46), JJ Hester (46), Ivan Carreon (17) and Zion Kearney (11). Brenen Thompson was deleted from the SEC availability report but still hasn’t played.

Farmer Sharp And Jake Roberts shared tight end duties with 50 and 14 snaps, respectively.

In total, only 16 players played offense for the Sooners.

Standing on the defensive line R Mason Thomas (57), Demonic Williams (41), Ethan Downs (40), Gracen Halton (35), Jayden Jackson (29), Da’Jon Terry (22), David Stone (3), Adepoju Adebawore (3) and Taylor wine (2).

Halton, who forced a fumble on a sack, was the highest-graded defensive player at 80.3.

Secondary school included Dezjhon Malone (39), Robert Spears Jennings (34), Peyton Bowen (29), Jacobe Johnson (24) and Woody Washington (22).

Postseason participation doesn’t matter, meaning the Sooners’ redshirt roster can’t grow, even if they play in the bowl game.

However, OU suffered several long-term injuries during the regular season, many of which played fewer than five games and would likely be eligible for a medical redshirt if pursued. Recipient Jayden Gibson, Jalil Farooq, Nic Anderson And Andrew Anthony All have appeared in fewer than four games, if at all, this season. Deion Burkes played in only five games, but was also able to move to the NFL.

The other players who appeared in fewer than five games include the defensive back Gentry Williams and cheetah Kendel Dolbyas well as offensive linemen Joshua Bates, Geirean Hatchett And Jake Taylor.
