Phoenix attack victim says suspect was the same person who attacked Paul Bissonnette

Phoenix attack victim says suspect was the same person who attacked Paul Bissonnette

Phoenix police are investigating an assault at the Raven Golf Club that the victim says he has ties to Attack on a former NHL player in Scottsdale.

It happened the same night that former Arizona Coyotes hockey player Paul Bissonnette was attacked by six men at a Houston restaurant in Scottsdale on November 24th.

The victim of the Phoenix attack, a golf club employee named Carter, believes he was attacked by the same group of men.

The attack on Bissonnette occurred around 7:30 p.m., and Carter says he was punched in the face by the same group earlier that day.

Phoenix police say they are aware of the similarities and are investigating.

Carter says his jaw still hurts from being attacked.

“He just runs up to me, pushes me against the wall and just starts crying at me,” Carter said.

He shared surveillance video of the attack, which was carried out by a man in a green shirt. Carter says the suspect was drunk and refused to leave at closing time.

“I had a good black eye for a week. But my jaw still hurts and I have a big bruise on the top of my head, under my hair,” he said.

Carter believes that man is Danny Bradley, the same man from the same group that attacked Bissonnette just an hour later.

“100%,” he said. “I recognized him immediately. I saw him several times that day. So it was pretty easy to identify him.”

Bissonnette says he saw a group of six drunk men harassing the bar staff because they wouldn’t serve them another drink. When he tried to stop the men, the group became violent towards him.

He described the experience on his Barstool Sports podcast Spittin’ Chiclets.

“I said, ‘Listen, if you keep harassing and assaulting the staff, we’re going to go outside and have some problems.’ “The minute that came out of my mouth, the guy started throwing punches,” the former NHL player said.

Unlike Carter, who just had to endure it, Bissonnette fought back.

“I mean, he’s half a foot taller than me, 150 pounds heavier than me. I’m not the biggest guy, so just make sure I don’t hurt myself too badly and it’ll probably stop soon,” Carter said.

Bissonnette, who had made a name for himself as a fighter on the ice, was able to take them on and fought back until the police showed up and arrested them.

Most of the group came from Fort Worth, Texas.

Bissonnette was furious when he heard they were targeting Carter too.

“Maybe I should have just sat there and waited for my traditional salad from Houston’s and minded my own business. But what if that Danny Bradley hits his right angle and ends up feeding one of those managers in Houston the same right hook he did with the golf club? What if one of these guys falls over and the next thing you know he gets cocky or, even worse, hits his head and is on a breathing tube,” he said in a Dec. 3 podcast episode .

Carter says he reported the attack to Phoenix police, who say they investigated the two cases independently and have not confirmed that the same suspects were involved in both incidents.

Meanwhile, there is no guarantee that the Texas men facing misdemeanor and one felony charges will return to Arizona for their court dates. They were released without bail.

“I think they should be punished for what they did,” Carter said. “People can’t just go around beating people up and then get away scot-free.”

Both Carter and Bissonnette said they don’t understand why the men were released without bail.

When one of the suspects, Sean Daley, appeared before a judge last month, he was told he had to appear in person for his court date. He replied that he would try.
