“After the first six minutes of the game (Thursday), where we were outnumbered (three times), I thought our 5-on-5 play started to improve,” Sacco said. “We generated, we had some opportunities, we had some prospects. It just didn’t go in the goal for us.”

The Bruins’ performance in the third period ended any hope of a comeback. The Jets (5 goals) and Kraken (3 goals) scored in the final minutes of the game to extend their lead.

The Bruins, who lead the league in penalty minutes (354), once again struggled to stay out of the box, allowing four power-play goals in losses to Winnipeg and Seattle. Vancouver celebrates a 4-0 win against the reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers on Thursday.

Statistics of the day: The Bruins had a road record of 6-5-1 before starting this trip with two losses, but against a Canucks team that is 10-2-1 on the road in Vancouver and just 5-6-4 at home, they can get back to .500.

Notes: Going into Thursday’s loss in Seattle, the Bruins were facing penalty shootout trouble, and despite a 34-21 advantage in shots, Marchand scored the only goal on a penalty shot in the second period. In addition to a second straight third-period collapse – after Winnipeg scored five goals in the final frame on Tuesday – Boston lost center Elias Lindholm to an upper-body injury about halfway through the game. There was no update on his status Friday as the team did not practice. . . Not only did Kevin Lankinen make 27 saves en route to his third shutout in Thursday’s win, coach Rick Tocchet also liked the team-wide performance. . . Jake DeBrusk, who signed a seven-year contract with Vancouver in July after spending his first seven NHL seasons in Boston, scored the game-winning goal in his return to TD Garden on Nov. 26. The goal laid the foundation for Lankinen’s final shutout before Thursday. One game after goaltender Thatcher Demko’s first appearance since her knee injury in the playoffs last spring, the returns Thursday of alternate captain JT Miller (time out) and another former Bruins defenseman Derek Forbort (lower body injury) also provided a boost for Vancouver. Miller recorded two assists.
