PlayStation Wrap-Up 2024 doesn’t work

The annual PlayStation Wrap-Up, which was intended to summarize players’ gaming habits over the year, was apparently pulled for maintenance almost immediately after release and is not yet available at the time of writing. Currently, the link shown on the PlayStation blog for the recap leads to a screen promising that the event will be happening again soon, although there is currently no time frame for when that might be.

PlayStation has had an eventful year in 2024, and its player base is likely having an eventful year too, with many high-profile video game launches released as console exclusives for the PlayStation 5. Sony caused a stir with the massive release of Helldivers 2 towards the beginning of the year, followed by a number of other massive releases like Final Fantasy 7 RebirthThe Silent Hill 2 new edition, Starbladeand many more.

A new patent suggests gamers will be able to connect their phones to a PlayStation console or controller to use it as a second video screen.

Given PlayStation’s strong presence in the gaming market and large player base, the company tends to celebrate player activity at the end of each year with the PlayStation Wrap-Up, which summarizes what games people have played. The Wrap-Up is a staple in the community, but is currently unavailable as the PlayStation Blog link to it leads to a page that says “We’ll be back soon.”

PlayStation Wrap-Up 2024 coincides with the 30th anniversary

Sony has not yet released an official statement about PlayStation Wrap-Up 2024, so there is currently no information about when it might be properly available to players, but the website assures that it will return soon. There’s no indication of a possible reason for the ongoing wrap-up setback, but it could have something to do with PlayStation’s 30th anniversary celebration, which will likely provide additional momentum.

PlayStation in general has done a lot to celebrate its 30th anniversary this year, from online store sales to an exclusive line of PS5 consoles and merchandise to a number of nostalgic, limited-time system menu themes. Some of Sony’s key exclusives this year also served as a sort of homage to gaming’s storied history, particularly the acclaimed platformer AstroBot, which is full of references to legendary PlayStation franchises.

Sony’s other exclusive console products have also done well this year Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth received several awards at The Game Awards and Starblade enjoy similar recognition and have not yet been published on any other platform.
