There were significant traffic disruptions on Friday, December 6th, after a traffic accident at the intersection of Werler Straße / Im Sutenkamp.

A 60-year-old truck driver from Bad Driburg intended to turn left from Werler Straße onto Im Sutenkamp street with his semi-trailer and tractor shortly after 5 a.m. He collided with the oncoming truck of a 58-year-old in the junction area.

As a result of the collision, the Bad Driburger tractor-trailer was thrown against another truck that was traveling north on Werler Straße.

In addition, two semi-trailer tractors became partially wedged together and fuel leaked.

Due to the high volume of traffic, there were significant traffic disruptions.

The accident site had to be completely closed in the intersection area by police forces. Traffic was networked and rerouted over a wide area. The BAB exits were closed by the motorway police and subsequently by roads in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The road had to be cleaned due to leakage of operating materials. The road surface was partially damaged and needs to be milled and replaced in the intersection area.

Entry and exit to the adjacent EDEKA logistics center is not possible until further notice.

The trucks that collided in the intersection area had to be towed away on site.

The closure of the accident site and other traffic measures were taken over by Roads NRW due to the upcoming road renovation.

The closure of the accident site is expected to last until 6 p.m. (ds)
