QB Bo Nix earns NFL Rookie of the Week honors for his performance in Week 12 against the Raiders

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – Bo Nix reached another impressive milestone in his rookie season.

The quarterback won the NFL’s Rookie of the Week award for his performance in Denver’s 29-19 victory over the Raiders, becoming the first Bronco to win the award in three consecutive weeks.

Nix previously won the award based on outstanding performances in Week 10 against the Chiefs and Week 11 against the Falcons.

Nix earned the honor after a strong road game in Week 12, completing 25 of 42 passes for 273 yards, two touchdowns and a 94.6 passer rating in the win. Denver trailed Las Vegas at halftime, and Nix led the Broncos on two second-half touchdown drives to help the team to its first regular season win over the Raiders since 2014. The rookie quarterback also didn’t throw an interception and posted an 8-0 touchdown-to-interception ratio leading all NFL quarterbacks since Week 10.

With the award in Week 12, Nix became the first Broncos quarterback to win the award three times, surpassing two-time winner Tim Tebow. His three awards this season are the second-most all-time by a Broncos rookie, trailing only former running back Knowshon Moreno, who won the weekly award four times in 2009.

Nix was one of six finalists for the Week 12 Award. He won a fan vote ahead of Jayden Daniels of Washington, Caleb Williams of Chicago, Bucky Irving of Tampa Bay, Chop Robinson of Miami and Jarvis Brownlee Jr. of Tennessee.
