Quarterback Isaac Wilson is returning to Utah football next season

SALT LAKE CITY— After entering the transfer portal, Utah freshman quarterback Isaac Wilson has decided to return to Utah.

Wilson received significant interest from programs like BYU and UCLA, among others. He announced his decision to return to Utah on Monday evening.

After a difficult true freshman season that saw him thrust into the starting lineup, Wilson entered the portal to weigh his options.

According to a source, Wilson had really productive conversations with new offensive coordinator Jason Beck.

Wilson will return to Utah with Devon Dampier as the starter.

Wilson finished the season with 127 completions on 225 attempts, generating 1,510 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

After Cameron Rising’s injury, Wilson had to step in as a starter. He faced ups and downs, resulting in a 2-5 record at the helm.

Andy Ludwig’s resignation may have influenced the decision. Wilson chose Utah in large part because of the professional offense Ludwig called.

Now that Beck is in charge, Wilson seems comfortable with the offense and the plan moving forward.
