Raiders-Jaguars score live updates – Silver And Black Pride

Here are some live updates from the Las Vegas Raiders’ home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday:

First quarter

  • The Jaguars were aggressive in the opening period of the game, going fourth-and-1 from their own 39 and converting. They ended up getting to the Raiders’ 49 and punting.
  • The Raiders took over inside their own five and then Aidan O’Connell hit rookie tight end Brock Bowers for a big 32-yard gain to get out of trouble. Bowers rushed for 1,000 yards on the catch. Then he had a drop and a holding penalty that negated a run by O’Connell, and then he was dismissed. The Raiders punted.
  • Jacksonville quarterback Mac Jones had some open receivers, but he failed on several plays, which led to the Jaguars punting.
  • The punt fest continued as the Raiders once again put together a sloppy and poor drive on their second drive. Poor execution and strange play calls (a run up the middle on second-and-18) and another punt sabotaged this drive.
  • The Jaguars had a 26-yard punt return and then the Raiders had a late score at the end of the play to put the Jaguars in business. Raiders pass rusher K’Lavon Chaisson blew up a screen pass for the second time in three games against the team that drafted in the first round in 2020. However, Jones hit the rookie star wide receiver for a first down on third-and-9 for 16 yards in the red zone. A pass interference call on Darnay Holmes, who was filling in for injured nickel cornerback Nate Hobbs, set up a short Jacksonville touchdown run as they took a 7-0 lead with 1:32 left in the quarter.
  • O’Connell returned from a knee injury and had fresh legs as he rushed for 13 yards and a first down. On the next piece. He hit receiver Jakobi Meyers to get to the Jaguars’ 30.

Second quarter

  • Tre Tucker made a nice catch to put the Raiders at 1st. Then Alexander Mattison scored from the 1st to make it 7-7.
  • The Jaguars made a three-pointer and gave the ball back to the Raiders.
  • O’Connell hit Tucker and Meyer again and helped set up a 49-yard field goal by Daniel Carlson that gave the Raiders a 10-7 lead with 10:28 left in the half. Carlson has made 21 straight field goals from 50 yards, the fourth-longest streak in the league.
  • Another three and the game was eliminated by a poor offense from Jacksonville.
  • The Raiders made some plays and Ameer Abdullah had some nice runs and converted another Carlson field goal (37 yards) to extend their lead to 13-7.
  • The Raiders got the ball back after Tank Bigsby fumbled after a nice run and Raiders safety Tre’von Moehrig recovered with just over four minutes left in the first half. But the Raiders had to punt.
  • Raiders rookie guard Jackson Powers-Johnson appeared to be injured.
  • The Jaguars attempted a field goal late in the first half, but Isaiah Pola-Mao forced his second fumble and the Raiders recovered.
  • The Raiders lead 13-7 at halftime. It is the first half-time lead since November 24th.
