Raiders’ Maxx Crosby will undergo season-ending ankle surgery

Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby will undergo season-ending arthroscopic ankle surgery, he said in an Instagram post Saturday.

Crosby initially injured his ankle in Week 2 in Baltimore and later missed just one game. He said he made it “worse” last weekend against Tampa Bay, which led to surgery.

“Some people will say I should just take time and relax and prepare for next year, I will never be that person,” he wrote. “I have a team around me that allowed me to come back and still be disruptive even though I really wasn’t fully healthy all year. I will stand in fire no matter what because this game is my life. If.” I have a heartbeat, I expect to play for the fans who spend their hard-earned money to watch me perform and wear my jersey every Sunday because it means everything to me and my approach to this game will never change.

Crosby will meet with Dr. Rob Anderson will meet and undergo the arthroscopic surgery that will determine whether a second surgery is needed and how much damage he suffered to his ankle, sources told ESPN. Doctors believe the extent of the injury may be worse than initially thought.

The Raiders (2-11) have already been eliminated from postseason contention and Crosby will begin rehab with an eye toward the 2025 season. The question will be whether it’s for the Raiders.

Multiple teams inquired about Crosby with Las Vegas before or during the NFL trade deadline in November. The Raiders refused to attract any team’s interest, with owner Mark Davis even telling ESPN, “We’re not trading Maxx Crosby.” Before or after the trade deadline!!!”

Still, it won’t stop other teams from approaching the Raiders again this offseason as they look to rebuild their roster around the quarterback they draft for the 2025 season.

Crosby turns 28 in August and is in the prime of his career, which will be attractive to other teams – or to Las Vegas if he stays there.
