Raiders QB Aidan O’Connell was sidelined with a knee injury

Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell was carted off the field with a knee injury late in the third quarter of Las Vegas’ 28-13 loss at Tampa Bay on Sunday.

O’Connell was thrown with his left leg in the air after going awkwardly to the ground following what appeared to be a late hit from behind by Buccaneers defensive tackle Calijah Kancey.

Desmond Ridder, who was released from the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad on October 22, replaced O’Connell. He finished the game completing 12 of 17 passes for 101 yards.

The Raiders had already lost quarterback Gardner Minshew two weeks ago due to a season-ending broken collarbone.

It was O’Connell’s second start since coming off injured reserve. On October 20, he suffered a broken thumb on his right hand.

O’Connell completed 11 of 19 passes for 104 yards with one interception against the Bucs.
