Rail service halted in Northeast Corridor and further disruptions for New Jersey commuters; What you should know

NJ Transit has reported that Northeast Corridor rail service is suspended in both directions due to Amtrak cable issues near Newark Penn Station, impacting traffic to and from New York Penn Station.

The North Jersey Coast line is interrupted between Long Branch and Penn State New York, while Raritan Valley Line service terminates at Newark Penn Station due to Amtrak overhead line problems nearby. Trains to and from Penn State New York may experience delays of up to 60 minutes.

Eastbound Midtown Direct service will be rerouted to Hoboken, New Jersey.

NJ Transit rail tickets are honored by PATH at Newark, Hoboken and 33rd Street-NY and NJ Transit, as well as private transportation buses according to their contribution on X.
