Red Sox are ‘surprising force’ in 0 million sweepstakes for Yankees star

It certainly sounds like the Juan Soto Sweepstakes will end in the not-too-distant future.

There has been a lot of talk about Soto’s plans, with the Boston Red Sox often mentioned as a possible landing spot. This is surprising because at first it seemed like only the New York Yankees and New York Mets had a chance of getting him.

Boston caught the baseball world by surprise and is rightfully in on the action. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal even called the Red Sox a “surprising force” in the sweepstakes, although he called the Mets his favorites.

“The Mets are widely considered the favorite for Soto, and many in the industry believe the team’s owner, Steve Cohen, will outdo any contender,” Rosenthal said. “But the Yankees are eager to keep Soto as a complement to Judge, and the Red Sox have emerged as a surprising force in negotiations. The (Toronto Blue Jays) and (Los Angeles Dodgers) are considered longer players, but the Jays are. “I’m willing to match the Dodgers’ offer for Ohtani last offseason and seem just as focused on Soto.

The Red Sox may not be the favorite for Soto in Rosenthal’s eyes, but as long as he remains available, there’s a chance Boston could shock us.

Boston obviously wants him so badly that it’s willing to make a historic contract offer. We’ll find out soon if the feelings are reciprocated.
