Retired NFL QB is aiming for a comeback after coaching HS football for a year

Teddy Bridgewater is one of the NFL quarterbacks who failed to live up to fans’ high expectations.

Bridgewater was selected as a first-round quarterback by the Minnesota Vikings (pick No. 32) and had a mixed NFL career but was easy to get excited about.

Teddy announced his retirement from the NFL in February after a year with the Detroit Lions and went on to become a high school football coach.

OutKick’s Amber Harding Snyder previously wrote, “In his first year as head football coach at Miami Northwestern Senior High School, the former Pro Bowl quarterback led his alma mater to the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 3A state title.”

“Miami Northwestern went 12-2 this season and outscored its opponents 262-12 in five playoff games. That includes the 41-0 win over previously undefeated Raines in the championship game.”

It was an incredible second act for Teddy Bridgewater. But even at 32, Bridgewater believes he still has some football left in him.

Bridgewater appeared on NFL Network this week to discuss his incredible turnaround for Miami Northwestern. Bridgewater expressed his hopes for an NFL comeback after a year off.

REGARD:

Bridgewater spent ten seasons in the NFL and proved to be a capable backup for teams, playing for a total of seven franchises. He has a 33-32 record under center, with 75 passing touchdowns and 47 interceptions. Bridgewater suffered a number of injuries throughout his career, including a torn ACL in 2016.

Among the 32 NFL teams, Bridgewater could be a viable option over several starting QBs.

The Titans, Raiders and Giants could all benefit from calling up Teddy this offseason.
