‘Right to die earned’ sheriff criticizes family murderer commuter in St. Lucie Co.

“Where is the justice for the Escobedo family who were murdered in cold blood?”

That was the question Sheriff Keith Pearson asked after learning that outgoing President Joe Biden had commuted the sentences of two men who killed a family of four on the St. Lucie County Turnpike.

“It is disheartening to wake up to the news that Joe Biden has commuted the death sentence for Ricardo Sanchez (Jr.) and Daniel Troya to life in prison,” the St. Lucie County Sheriff continued.

Less than a month before his term begins, President Biden announced Monday that he has commuted the sentences of Sanchez, Troya and 35 other federal death row inmates. His reprieve spared all but three people on the U.S. government’s death row.

Pearson argued the Biden administration’s “woke ideology” led to its decision to make the commutations, adding: “These two have earned the right to die for the heinous crimes they committed.”

Sanchez and Troya’s convictions came after the murders of Jose Luis Escobedo, Luis Damian Escobedo, Luis Julian Escobedo and Yessica Guerro Escobedo on the Turnpike in 2006. The two were accused of pulling over the Jeep Cherokee, shooting the mother, father and two children and to have left there.
