Rob Dillingham’s updated status and injury report for Timberwolves vs. Clippers

Rob Dillingham’s updated status and injury report for Timberwolves vs. Clippers

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be back in action when they travel to the Intuit Dome to take on the LA Clippers on Wednesday night. It will be the Wolves’ third consecutive matchup against a team from Los Angeles, following Monday’s game against the Lakers and last week’s matchup with the Clippers.

Minnesota is looking for its third straight win in this game and wants to finally get back to the .500 overall mark. Their challenge to beat the Clippers won’t be an easy one as LA has played some of the best basketball in the association recently. Chris Finch also recently praised some of the Clippers’ best players.

The good news is that the Timberwolves know they can beat this team after suffering a loss just five days ago. There’s been a lot of outside noise surrounding this Minnesota team, but the guys in the locker room have done a good job lately of tuning out all of that and getting back to winning ways.

Many have wondered if rookie Rob Dillingham can hold his own against the Clippers on Wednesday. Based on the latest status report, it appears that Dillingham has been ruled out for Minnesota’s first game at the Intuit Dome.

Rob missed Monday’s home game against the Lakers after being listed as questionable before the game with a right ankle sprain. He has now been officially classified as out for Wednesday. This is an unfortunate development for a talented young player who had started to get more minutes and prove himself before the injury.

Mike Conley’s absence in the second half of November had given Dillingham a real opportunity to showcase his talent, and he took advantage of his opportunities. But after Conley returned, it seemed like Rob’s minutes became less of a priority for the coaching staff. Ideally, he will recover and be back in action soon.

Jaylen Clark (bilateral), Rob Dillingham (right ankle sprain), Jesse Edwards (bilateral), Joe Ingles (left soleus strain) and Leonard Miller (G League assignment) are all out.

The team did not provide an updated injury report for the Clippers as of Wednesday.

On Tuesday against the Trail Blazers: Kobe Brown (back injury treatment), Cam Christie (in action), Trentyn Flowers (two-way), Kawhi Leonard (recovering from a right knee injury), Kevin Porter Jr. (left ankle sprain) and PJ Tucker (not on the team) were all out.

It can be assumed that some of these players will also be out on Wednesday. Kawhi Leonard and PJ Tucker in particular will almost certainly be back on the roster and miss the game against Minnesota.
