Rumor Mill: Big visits on deck as the transfer portal approaches halftime

The transfer portal is awesome and there is a lot of news every day. Here is the Rivals’ newest national recruiting director Adam Gorney listens to many top players.

Washington and Florida will receive a visit from the former five-star receiver who transferred from Texas. Cook is also working on a possible Penn State trip. Colorado could get a visit and interest in the Buffaloes would be even greater if they signed former Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter.


The former Harvard center travels to Virginia on Thursday in what could be a really big visit for Gentle, who is also talking to another ACC program about a possible visit. Gentle is working with Virginia Tech to find a time to travel to Blacksburg.


After catching 40 passes for 578 yards and five touchdowns at Cal this season, Hunter has two visits to Nebraska and Kansas State coming up this week. Nebraska will reportedly be on Wednesday and Hunter will be in Manhattan on Friday as those are his top two programs.


After being rated as a four-star midfielder out of Zachary, La., Jackson had just four tackles this season and is now looking for a fresh start elsewhere.

TCU, Arizona State, Baylor, Oklahoma State and Louisville were the programs Jackson has been most focused on as his recruitment gains momentum again.


Temple finished 3-9 this season, but King was a standout with 112 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble, and now he’s getting some serious attention. King will be in Virginia on Wednesday and then the linebacker would like to complete dates with Nebraska and Penn State.


Loya led UCLA with four touchdown catches this season and now two teams appear to have taken the lead in recruiting him. He was in Stanford over the weekend and then in Utah on Monday as other travel plans are also being worked out.


A slew of offers have come in from Arizona State, Louisville, Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Cal, Houston, Auburn and others, and two big visits are expected this week. The former Coastal Carolina standout, who had 9.5 sacks and three forced fumbles, will be in Minnesota and Louisville before working toward a decision.


Mullen, who had 30 tackles, five sacks and five pass breakups at Dartmouth this season, recently visited Nevada and was at Coastal Carolina on Monday before wrapping up the week with two more visits. He will be at Rice on Tuesday and Wednesday and then finish the week at Charlotte.


Simmons, one of the top offensive tackles in the portal, starred at Western Carolina and now faces some important games this week. The four-star will face Colorado, South Carolina and Georgia Tech as the massive offensive lineman works toward a commitment.


After recording 30 catches for 588 yards and five touchdowns in Tulsa this season, Williams is set to visit and hear from others this week.

Williams is expected at Mississippi State, Utah, Washington and Colorado by the end of the week.
