Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli left the internet angry as the Indian batsmen once again failed to score much on the fifth day of the fourth Test match against Australia in Melbourne on Monday. It’s been a struggle for the veteran batters as they haven’t scored many runs lately. The misery continued in the second innings of the fourth Test when Rohit was dismissed for 9 while Virat was caught in the slips for 5. Rohit was sent off by Pat Cummins, with Mitchell Marsh taking a sharp catch at gully, while Virat was again guilty of chasing a wide ball from Mitchell Starc when he went into slip.

India were 33 for three at lunch and chasing a target of 340 runs against Australia.

Rohit Sharma (9), KL Rahul (0) and Virat Kohli (5) were the Indian batsmen who were dismissed. Kohli was caught at first slip by Mitchell Starc just before the lunch break.

With 228 points to nine, Australia were eliminated on the final day with 234 points.

India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah (5/57) led the show as expected with a five-wicket haul, well supported by Mohammed Siraj (3/70) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/33).

Australian numbers 10 and 11 Nathan Lyon (41 off 55) and Scott Boland (15 not out off 74) added six runs in the morning session before Bumrah took the former.
