Santa Cruz officials report partial collapse of the wharf

Santa Cruz police confirmed with KSBW 8 that three people were on the dock when it collapsed. Two of them had to be rescued and the last person got out of the water alone. Minor injuries were reported. The quay was immediately evacuated. The port of Santa Cruz is closed until further notice, as is the quay. According to the police, the two beaches in the area are also closed. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk also said it will remain closed for the remainder of the day out of an abundance of caution.
