ABC7 News Meteorologist Drew Tuma has your AccuWeather forecast for Monday.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — On Monday we will be at the Level 1 storm impact scale for light showers around the Bay Area. A high surf warning remains in effect across the coast due to dangerous swimming and surfing conditions.

We reach level 2 on Tuesday morning with heavier rain and gusty winds.

Here’s a look at how rain will affect your commute on Monday and Christmas Eve.

MONDAY

  • Fog and drizzle will prevail throughout the day.

  • Light showers will move through the North Bay between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m

  • A high surf warning is in effect on the coast due to life-threatening waves. The height could exceed 30 feet!

TUESDAY

  • A strong cold front will move through early this morning, bringing with it a flurry of rain and gusty winds

  • The worst rain and wind will occur between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday.

  • Winds could gust to 20-40 mph.

  • It will continue to rain until 10 a.m

  • The afternoon will feature dry skies and some sunshine.

  • Rainfall totals will be between 0.50 and 1 inch.

  • The high surf warning remains in effect

  • The Sierra will experience light snowfall, expected to be less than a foot.
