Schools in the Denver metro area are delaying their opening times by one to two hours

Snow, ice and freezing temperatures have forced a number of schools and entire districts across the Denver metro area, including Jeffo Public Schools and the Douglas County School District, into delayed openings.

Most of these delays last one to two hours, but you can check CBS News Colorado’s school closure and delay tracker or contact your child’s school or district for updates.

From around 6:45 a.m. the following delays occurred:

ALL SOULS SCHOOL: 1 hour and 30 minutes late
AMBLESIDE SCHOOL IN CENTENNIAL: 2 hours late
AMERICAN ACADEMY: 90 minutes delayed
ARAPAHOE COMMUNITY COLLEGE: 10 a.m. delayed start
ASPEN ACADEMY: 1 hour and 30 minutes delayed; No preschool care
AVE MARIA CATHOLIC SCHOOL: 90 minutes late
BETH EDEN BAPTIST SCHOOL: 2 hours late
CASTLE ROCK SENIOR CENTER: Opening at 9:30 a.m
CHERRY CREEK SCHOOL DIST: Delayed; Elem – 60 mins, MS and HS – 90 mins
CRESCENT VIEW ACADEMY: Delayed by 1 hour and 30 minutes
DENVER CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS: 1 hour and 40 minutes late
DOUGCO SCHOOL DIST: ALL SCHOOLS: 90 minutes late
ELIZABETH SCHOOL DIST: 2 hours late
FAITH CHRISTIAN ACADEMY: All K-8 classes begin at 9:30 a.m
HOLY FAMILY HIGH SCHOOL: 2 hours late
HUMANEX ACADEMY: 1 hour and 45 minutes delayed
JEFFCO PUBLIC SCHOOLS: 2 hours late
JOSHUA SCHOOL FOR AUTISM – DENVER: Closed today
LITTLETON MACKINTOSH ACADEMY: 2 hours late
LITTLETON PUBLIC SCHOOLS: 2 hours late
MILE HIGH ACADEMY: Delayed by 1 hour and 30 minutes
MULLEN HIGH SCHOOL: 2 hours late
SHRINE OF ST. ANNE SCHOOL: 1 hour late
ST. ANDREW UMC: HIGHLANDS RANCH: 90 minutes late
ST. LUKE’S LITTLE SCHOOL: 90 minutes late
ST. MARY’S ACADEMY: 90 minutes delayed
ST. THOMAS MORE: 1 hour late
TRINITY LUTHERAN SCHOOL: FRANKTOWN: Delayed by 1 hour and 30 minutes
VALOR CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: 1 hour and 20 minutes late

Parents and students driving to school are asked to drive carefully as roads are icy and there has already been a multi-car pileup near Sheridan and 6th Avenue in Denver.
