Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco toast their engagement in a new Instagram video

Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez toast their love.

Blanco, 36, shared an Instagram video on Saturday, December 14, of the happy couple clinking champagne glasses together. In the very short clip, Gomez, 32, smiled broadly and her engagement ring sparkled as she toasted her fiancé, who proposed on Wednesday, December 11.

The music mega-producer accompanied his champagne toast with Gomez’s 2015 song “Good for You,” particularly the part where she sings “I’m on my marquise diamonds.” Fittingly, Blanco proposed to Gomez with a large marquise diamond on an eternity band.

The toast appears to have taken place during their engagement picnic on December 11, which included Gomez’s favorite meal from Taco Bell.

“It was really her,” a source exclusively tells PEOPLE about the special moment. “It was a total surprise for Selena.”

Later that evening, the couple “spontaneously” gathered with friends and family to celebrate the occasion, the insider added.

“Benny and Selena were so excited to share the news with their loved ones right away,” the source said. “It’s such a real partnership between them.”

The engagement post received more than 21 million likes and many celebrities cheered the couple on as they took the next step in their love story.

“Yes, I’ll be the flower girl,” her friend Taylor Swift replied.

Steve Martin shared a photo of himself, Martin Short and Gomez on Instagram on Thursday, December 12, captioning it, “Congratulations to Benny and Selena from their two weird uncles.”

Gomez and Blanco began dating in December 2023 and she confirmed their relationship when she “liked” the couple’s fan account posts on Instagram. They had known each other for years and had collaborated with Tainy and J Balvin on 2019’s “I Can’t Get Enough.”

The couple made their red carpet debut at the 2024 Emmys in January.

In November, Blanco told PEOPLE about his relationship with the Emilia Perez star during his interview for the Sexiest Man Alive issue.

“I have a really best friend who I can do anything in the world with, and every day is the best day of my life,” Blanco said of Gomez.
